How often should I visit the dentist?
For most people, a dental check-up and cleaning is recommended every six months. At Smilo Family Dentistry, we find this twice-yearly schedule is ideal for catching potential issues like cavities or gum disease early on, when they are easiest to treat. These regular visits also allow our hygienists to remove hardened plaque (tartar) that can’t be eliminated with brushing and flossing at home.
However, this can vary based on your individual oral health. If you have a history of gum disease, are prone to cavities, or have certain health conditions, we might recommend more frequent visits, such as every three to four months. Ultimately, we’ll work with you to determine the best schedule to keep your smile healthy.
